From a gap in care to a community cornerstone – this is how Outback Care came to be.
In 2023, Broome had a problem hiding in plain sight. A growing township with no locally run private podiatry service. People were travelling hours or going without – and for a town built on red dirt and long distances, that gap meant real consequences for real feet.
Boab Health Services, a long-established pillar of Kimberley healthcare, saw the need and acted. In early 2024, Outback Care Podiatry opened its doors – a private arm of Boab Health dedicated to making comprehensive foot care accessible to the broader Broome community.
But the need didn’t stop at podiatry. As we listened to the community, the picture got bigger: workplace wellbeing, employee assistance, sleep health – services that people in the cities take for granted but that regional communities have to fight for. So we grew.
Today, Outback Care delivers podiatry, wellbeing programs, EAP services, and sleep support – all under one roof in Broome. We’re still backed by Boab Health’s decades of experience, still grounded in the Kimberley, and still driven by the same belief that started it all: where you live shouldn’t decide the care you get.
